S/S 15 Trend: Stripes

Every year stripes make a comeback for the warmer months, just think of the ever popular breton stripe that is always associated with the nautical trend. However this season there is a lot more variety. From colourful to neutral, classic to bold, there is definitely a stripe out there for everyone. For high street versions, check out Primark and Topshop for some on trend pieces.

Pinterest Styling

Its officially spring time, which means brighter mornings and longer days. However, even though the sun is shining, its still quite chilly out so deciding what to wear can be a bit of a challenge. When i'm stuck in a bit of a style rut or just generally what some inspiration, I always look to Pinterest to give me some ideas on different outfits. Below are some images of outfits that I think would be perfect to wear right now. If you would like to see more outfit ideas and the rest of my boards, please click here to follow me.

Michael Kors Autumn/Winter 15/6

From the moment this show started I knew this was the woman i wanted to be. Relaxed, cool and confident is what this woman portrays. From slouchy bias cuts knits to sophisticated tweed the collection had a very 1930's feel to it. It also stays true to the Michael Kors all american brand by staying unfussy and simple but still very much elegant.

Holly Fulton Autumn/Winter 15/6

This was a collection that from the very first look I knew I was going to like it. Admittedly there were some pieces that I didn't like, however I can really appreciate the overall collection and her vision for designing these pieces. At parts it screamed quirky older lady and often had references to the 80's especially with the hair styled with a clip at the back and a very short fringe. There was a very sugary pastel palette but with the odd pop of colours from the looks in red and also the oversized fur coats. These are definitely pieces for the upper class IT party girl. Some of my favourite pieces include the high-waisted trousers with the tulle top and also the lavender pencil skirt.

Rodarte Autumn/Winter 15/6

Taking birds that migrate from city to country as a staring point, Laura and Kate Mulleavy's latest collection is filled with slinky sequins, high waisted leather, ruffles and of course feathers. Designed for the cool, grunge girl that likes to party in mini sequined dresses but always remembers to have her oversized parka in tweed print with a fur collar for the walk home. The juxtaposition of country and city work so well together. It also has an androgynous feel by styling to slinky sequin dresses with tights and lace up boots and also the high waisted trousers with a mannish blazer. Overall I really love this collection and cant wait to be styling outfits in this way next winter.

Luckily Lisa Perry's latest collection is made to help overcome these daunting days.

Rachel Comey - Autumn/Winter 14/15

Its January, its cold and gloomy out and i'm stuck indoors with the flu. As much I want to be daydreaming of Spring collections and picnics in the park, I have come to the realisation that that is a few months away yet. Most of you will have already started sweating it out in the gym preparing for your hot summer bodies, however I am still very much wanted to wrap up in cosy layers. Rachel Comey's Fall 14 collection is perfect for that. From chunky textured pieces to drop shoulders, theres something very cosy about this collection. The styling of an oversized knit wrapped around a thin dress gives a very relaxed feel. The addition of fur and lace gives it a more luxe feel, yet still being very easy pieces to wear.
